Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the game, we don’t sell your data, and your WAX wallet activity is already public on the blockchain — not something we make public.
1. Who this covers
This policy explains what information Coglings (the “Game”, “we”, “us”) collects when you play, why, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
- Your WAX account name when you sign in. This is a public blockchain identifier, not a legal identity, and we use it to know which citizen and progress are yours.
- Gameplay data — your citizen, its state and history, your standing orders, in-game actions, streaks, and COGS balance.
- Messages you send to your citizen, so the AI can reply in character. These are stored to keep the conversation and your citizen’s memory going.
- Basic technical logs — such as IP address and request metadata — used for security, rate-limiting, and preventing abuse.
- Cookies — a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a beta-access cookie. No third-party advertising cookies.
We do not ask for your name, email, or wallet private keys, and we never have access to your keys.
3. How we use it
- To run the Game and keep your progress.
- To generate your citizen’s AI dialogue and behaviour.
- To keep the Game secure, fair, and working (anti-abuse, rate-limiting, debugging).
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Game is played so we can improve it.
4. Who we share it with
- Our AI provider. The messages and game context needed to generate citizen replies are processed by a third-party AI provider to return a response. Don’t send anything you consider sensitive or private in citizen chat.
- The WAX blockchain. Payments and (in the chain phase) NFT ownership are recorded publicly and permanently on WAX. That’s inherent to blockchains and outside our control.
- Infrastructure providers (hosting) that operate the Service on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for third-party advertising.
5. Retention
We keep gameplay data while your citizen is active. Routine logs are pruned on a rolling basis (for example, event logs after about 30 days and chat/AI logs after about 90 days), except where we need to keep something longer for security or to meet legal obligations. On-chain data (payments, NFTs) is permanent and cannot be deleted by us.
6. Your choices
- You can stop playing at any time and clear the Game’s cookies from your browser.
- You can sign out to end your session.
- To request deletion of off-chain gameplay data associated with your wallet, contact us (below). Note we cannot alter or delete anything recorded on the blockchain.
7. Children
Coglings is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to play. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold, but no online service is perfectly secure. Your wallet’s security is your responsibility — we never hold your keys.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change. Continuing to play after an update means you accept it.
